Cheerful Givers’ mission is to provide toy-filled birthday gift bags to food shelves and shelters so that parents living in poverty can give their child a birthday gift. We believe this simple gesture boosts self-esteem, enhances self-worth, and strengthens bonds in families. The gift bags are distributed to a food shelf or shelter, and placed in the hands of children in need.

The Social Summer Fundraiser, an online-only fundraiser, takes place August 1-31, 2010. The goal of this campaign is to raise funds strictly through the power of social media.

While $10 may not seem that significant, it allows us to provide a birthday gift bag to one child. $50 allows us to provide birthday gift bags for at least five children, and so on. It is only through the generous gifts of people like you that we can continue to provide for this need in our communities. Please consider donating in any amount using the ChipIn button above.

This year we’ve added an online auction with with items such as autographed photos of Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau & Michael Cuddyer, a signed Adrian Peterson Vikings jersey, personal concerts from Tim Mahoney and Jeff James (in your home or office) and more.
