The Robert Lewis House is one of the local women’s shelters that receive Cheerful Givers birthday bags for the children that stay there. Thanks to our many volunteers, donors and supporters, 18,654 less fortunate children have been able to celebrate their birthday this year with a gift from their parents. The first Father’s Day celebration was in June 1910 – the birthday month of William Smart. Mrs. Dobbs proposal to honor her single dad’s hard work is more fitting than ever for our increasing single-father families 100 years later.

These are the Cheerful Givers of the future!
