Background
Cheerful Givers was launched in North Dakota in January 2007. Mary Glessner and her family decided to become involved with Cheerful Givers “because of our passion for children and the need to help those who are less fortunate.  We could not imagine any child not receiving a single birthday gift on their special day.  We were so impressed and moved by the Founder’s story that our decision to team up with Cheerful Givers was an incredibly easy decision to make.  The thought of bringing a smile to a child on their birthday is our way of giving back to our Creator.”

Coordinator
Mary Glessner had a dream of starting a non-profit organization in Grand Forks when she ran across the Cheerful Giver website. Since the Cheerful Givers mission fit the criteria she was looking for, she proceeded to contact the President, Karen Kitchel.  “After visiting with Karen, I was reassured my dream was headed in the right direction.”

• Glessner/Heskin Family, Established December 2006
