vickiVicki Kline-Flores, who has been a Cheerful Givers volunteer for the past five plus years, is a wonderful example of “leadership in service.”

“I was a single mom who at one point received a similar kind of assistance that Cheerful Givers supplies so I know how it feels to be a parent who might receive a gift bag” said Vicki.

While she’s careful to suggest she is not “in charge” of the Ecolab volunteers where she works, she feels it is a group effort and she states there is a lot of passion surrounding Cheerful Givers from each and every volunteer. Instead she calls herself a “go-to” person for other Ecolab Corporate, as well as the Eagan and Grand Forks volunteers who are interested in participating in the bi-monthly organization of assembling gift bags at Ecolab’s facilities.

3564365037_1d506537f4Vicki is also a board member with Cheerful Givers and in that position attends quarterly meetings. She assists with fundraising functions and outreach events where she helps recruit more volunteers. She participates annually at a Volunteer Expo event at the Mall of America with other non-profits in Minnesota.

She states that being a part of a board has helped her with her confidence. She has gained the experience of leadership as she works directly with other passionate board members; those who have law degrees, technology backgrounds and who are managers of their own companies. Vicki believes being a volunteer with Cheerful Givers has helped her Ecolab career by giving her the ability not to fear change. She feels she has been able to move forward, keep clear thoughts and she’s learned to be very flexible. She says “The world is always changing and you have to keep up! Cheerful Givers organization tries very hard to do just that all the time, keeping up with the world!”

Vicki truly is a Leader in service. Because of her passion and commitment many volunteers have had the opportunity to have the special feeling that we get when giving of ourselves.
