Georgia Teen Wins Volunteer Award
May 29th, 2009 | News, Volunteers

James Kwee is not your typical student or typical volunteer. In addition to keeping his grades up and getting accepted to NY University, James has spent the past two years starting an extracurricular club at school and volunteering at three different organizations on a regular basis. He initiated a pilot program for Cheerful Givers in Tennessee, writes newsletter articles and is a member of our social networking team.
“Based on the level of responsibility he has undertaken, the uniqueness of his service, his reliability and his positive attitude” the United Way Volunteer Center of Greater Chattanooga selected James as the recipient of their 2008 Youth Volunteer of the Year. He was nominated by Room in the Inn, a shelter for homeless or abused women and children where he frequently donates birthday gift bags. Congratulations, James — we’re proud of you!
